The YOKOHAMA-SXIP Industry-Government-Academia Collaborative Human Resource Development Seminar aims to build a network between universities, public research institutes, and companies in order to establish a program of YOKOHAMA-SXIP "YOKOHAMA International Education Program for Leading Sustainability Transformation toward a Resilient Society with Industry-Government-Academia network" utilizing the existing network in the Yokohama-Kanagawa region. We provide a forum for discussion with people who are active in a wide range of fields of industry, government, and academia.
On March 10, the YOKOHAMA-SXIP Industry-Government-Academia Collaborative Human Resource Development Seminar 2023 was held at Yokohama Landmark Tower in a hybrid format of face-to-face and online. After the opening remarks by President Umehara, the first session introduced the history and status of academic exchange between the partner universities and YNU, and the second session detailed the activities in India and Australia and the latest information on the two countries by guest speakers from industry and quasi-government agencies. Following the conclusion of the second session, a networking session allowed for the exchange of business cards among speakers and participants.
"YOKOHAMA-SXIP Industry-Government-Academia Collaborative Human Resource Development Seminar" On Friday, March 10, YNU held the "YOKOHAMA-SXIP Industry-Government-Academia Collaborative Human Resource Development Seminar" as a seminar in line with MEXT-JSPS “Inter-University Exchange Project” 2022, which was adopted this fiscal year. This seminar was held with the aim of introducing the YOKOHAMA-SXIP program and inviting lecturers from companies leading the way in cooperation with India and Australia, which are the target of the program, to understand the latest trends in business in Japan, India, and Australia, and to reaffirm their importance. On the day of the seminar, following the opening remarks by President Umehara, the first part, "International Exchange and SX Human Resources at YNU" introduced the YOKOHAMA-SXIP program by General Coordinator Suzuki and Associate Professor Nakamura of the Faculty of Engineering. Then after Prof. Maeda of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Tanabu of the Faculty of International Social Sciences and Lecturer Ishida of the Faculty of International Social Sciences explained the status of exchanges with partner universities in India and Australia. In the second part, "Business Development to Japan, India, and Australia," we heard explanations on the status of their efforts from companies leading cooperation with India and Australia. Mr. Nagai, Head of the Industry-Academia Collaboration Promotion Office of Fujitsu Limited, spoke about new ways of industry-academia collaboration and initiatives in India and Australia, Mr. Okada, Fellow of Chiyoda Corporation, talked about the global hydrogen supply chain business, and Mr. Enomoto, CEO of Enomoto Machine Co., Ltd., talked about their Indian business for more than 60 years. Mr. Kasagi, CEO of ROUND Co., Ltd., gave a lecture on the 40 years of working with motorization in India. Subsequently, Mr. Wakabayashi, Secretary General of the Yokohama India Center, gave a lecture on the introduction of the Yokohama India Center, and Mr. Takahara, Director of the JETRO Sydney Office, gave a lecture on the general situation in Australia and the trend of Japanese companies entering the market. In addition, after the closing remarks by Vice President Kabashima, a networking event was held, and the speakers and seminar attendees exchanged business cards and had a lively exchange of questions and answers. The seminar was attended by a wide range of people, both face-to-face and online, and was a very meaningful opportunity to introduce the program, which is the purpose of this seminar, and to understand the latest trends in business in Japan, India, and Australia, and to share awareness of their importance.
The Yokohama Japan-India Industry-Government-Academia Collaborative Human Resource Development Seminar will build an environmentally friendly 21st century growth model for India and promote the development of highly skilled human resources who will contribute to Japan's economic growth and the transition to a sustainable world. Therefore, we will invite lecturers who are leading the way in exchange with India, and aim to share issues and build networks at universities, public institutions, and private companies.
