December 27, Monday:
A relay-type Japan-India exchange symposium aimed at SX (Sustainability Transformation) was planned with the support of the Sakura Exchange Program. In this program, a new attempt was made to deepen exchanges between faculty members and students in each field in advance between 6 universities in 4 regions and fields using the relay method. To conclude this program, we held an online symposium on December 27, 2021 as the Japan-India YNU Symposium 2021.
First of all, at the opening session, Professor Hiromi Kabashima, Vice President of Yokohama National University (in charge of globalization), gave a greeting. Next, Mr. Yuji Nishikawa (National Research and Development Corporation, Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST)) of the Sakura Science Program Promotion Headquarters gave a special message along with an explanation of the Sakura Science Program. Then, as a keynote speech, Professor Gautam Biswas of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of IIT Kanpur gave a keynote speech on the importance of Japan-India exchange and the expectations for deepening exchanges with YNU. There were poster presentations by 33 young researchers and students from 5 partner universities with YNU. First, poster presenters gave a short presentation for 2 minutes per person, hereafter, posters with odd-numbered presentations and then posters with even-numbered presentations were presented in each room using Zoom's breakout function. Finally, the whole program was summarized, and the symposium was over.
Japan-India YNU Symposium 2020, “Science, Technology and Innovations for SDGs in India and Japan” was hold on 27th - 28th Dec 2020 as an online symposium under the circumstance of COVID-19 pandemic. More than 130 participants in total joined the symposium online and provided 23 talks and more than 30 poster presentations. (This symposium was collaborated with GMI symposium 2020.)
Japan-India YNU Symposium 2019, “Development of Sustainable Environment/Energy Technologies in South India”, was hold on 17th - 18th Dec 2019 at Minato Mirai Campus, Yokohama National University. In this symposium eight researchers and four students were invited from partner Universities and participated symposium and pre/post symposium events including cultural program, laboratory visiting, visiting a sludge treatment plant of Yokohama city, visiting embassy of India, Tokyo, etc. (This symposium was collaborated with GMI symposium 2019 and YEIS International Forum2019 and supported by DST-JSPS Bilateral Joint Seminar Program.)
Japan-India YNU Symposium 2017, “Emerging Materials & Systems for Green and Life Innovations”, was hold on 13th - 14th Dec 2017 at Yokohama Symposia. In this symposium twelve researchers were invited from partner Universities and participated symposium and pre/post symposium events including laboratory visiting, Short Lectures for students, collaboration meeting, visiting Nissan Technical Center, and Kanto Gakuin University, etc. (This symposium was collaborated with GMI symposium 2017 and YEIS International Forum2017.)
